With the results of their studies, together with the conclusions of other scientists the definition of an ideal support system was finally condensed in a list of specifications and requirements:

The new Technology of the Turnsoft®-system
complies with all of these Requirements and they are listed below:

1. Lowers Interface Pressure( below decubitogenic values)
  • the Turnsoft mattress system provides constant pressure relief below 22.5 mmHg simultaneously on the 5 classical pressure sore areas, namely the sacrum, heel, trochanter, ischial tuberosity, and lateral malleolus (where more than 95% of all sores develop).

2. Reduces shear and friction.
  • The cover is designed especially for wound management, the material is: two-way stretch, waterproof, vapor permeable, bacteriostatic and eliminates shear and friction.
    Patient immerses in mattress and is not pushed to roll.
  • TURNSOFT® allows head elevation (Fowler) without sliding of the patient.

3. Reduces Pulmonary Complications.
  • automatic positioning in to the 30° lateral position in frequent intervals, provides Pain-Management for patients with multiple traumas.

4. Does not disturb Rest of Patient.
  • repositions the patient very gently, without interrupting his/her sleep.
